Green Lantern Pizza was born in 1960 when the Vitale family brought their old-world pizza tradition from Detroit's east side to a small storefront on 12 Mile Road in Berkley, Michigan. What began as a humble neighborhood eatery quickly became a local institution.
Our founder, Giuseppe Vitale, believed that great pizza needed just three things: the finest fresh ingredients, dough prepared with patience, and a wood-fired oven that respected the craft. That philosophy has guided every pizza we've made for over 60 years.
Today, the third generation of the Vitale family continues to honor those roots while welcoming new neighbors, students, families, and food lovers to the table — just as Giuseppe always did.
